Moderation (Wasatyah) in Islam

What is Islam?

Moderation is the slogan of Islam, but what does it mean, and how does Islam look at the human being? Does Islam consider mankind as an ascended creature without desires, or as all lust with no soul? Does Islam consider mankind as mind with no emotions or all emotions with no brain? Is the religion all about worship and no deeds, or deeds without any acts of worship, and what is the connection between the two? Did Allah create us and demand that we do what opposes our nature?

Not only brotherhood in faith was considered by the Prophet PBUH as one of faith’s fundamentals, He also forbade anything that might lead to weaken brotherhood in faith and humanity or demolish it such as: mocking others, badmouthing, thinking ill of others, spying, and backbiting…etc, and He enjoined everything that might lead to strengthen brotherhood such as: being merciful to the young, respectful for the elders, helpful to the weak, supportive to the oppressed, controller for temper, and forgiver to others…etc.
