In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
The disease of this era:
If a person disobeys Allah or acts against his natural disposition, he has a serious problem in his life, why?
It is because the natural disposition is in congruence with Allah's Guidance.
The proof is in the following Ayah:
﴾ So set you (O Muhammad) your face towards the religion of pure Islamic Monotheism Hanifa (worship none but Allah Alone) Allah’s Fitrah (i.e. Allah’s Islamic Monotheism), with which He has created mankind. ﴿
There is complete congruence between Allah's Guidance and man's natural disposition.
Allah says:
﴾ And by Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul, etc.), and Him Who perfected him in proportion; ﴿
In what ways is this perfection manifested?
﴾ Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; ﴿
A Nafs (a person or a soul) knows when it is erring without being told, guided or informed.
This is because a person's disposition is in complete congruence with the Guidance of Allah; thus, any sin or shortcoming causes misery, distress and melancholy.
It is the disease of modern times, whether you call it melancholy, depression, boredom or dullness.
﴾ “But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur’an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection.” ﴿
